The City of Barnesville has reported a sewer system overflow that occurred on Mar. 26, 2024, due to line failure. Between March 26th and March 27th an unknown amount of sewage spilled into Tobesofkee tributary. The city will conduct stream monitoring in accordance with EPD requirements.

The City of Barnesville is conducting system wide flushing and testing of fire hydrants. Most hydrant testing will occur during the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. weekdays. Flushing of hydrants is necessary to insure the proper function of the hydrants and to record the pressure and flow data.
